No sorry, we have no plans for a "Welcome PM" application, not for v4 and also not for v5.

I think devfuse has this one released on 4.x it works nice.

Sadly he has not been on his own site since May.

yeah I wonder where did he disappear to. his work was always solid. would be sad to loose a talented developer like him.

I have something better than the Welcome PM feature in the pipeline;)

As you probably know, Welcome PM, sends an email, a post, and a PM (all optional).

The alert feature from your clubs application would also work for normal welcome messages!

Sending welcome PM in my mind is not the best thing since it just takes up space in the database and imagine if you get a lot of members..

I use on 4.4  the method of sending a welcome email therefore you don't clutter the database 🙂

I hope your mod does something to that effect 🙂

Michael's (now abandoned) mod can pick and choose.  PM, Email, and / or post.
